I hope nobody tells my 2-year old daughter that I stole some of her paint for this shot ;)

I might have seen something similar to this somewhere. Wanted to give it a try myself. If this is a remake of an existing photo I apologize in advance to the original photographer, and credits where credits are due !

Used the 100mm macro lens, Sigma macro flash, Sigma slave flash just to the left of the camera, two golden reflectors (one head on, one to the left). Remote shutter.
Afterwards I added a little saturation, a tiny bit of brightness, USM and crop. Cloned out two hairs.

Hi from the C Club

You asked for your shot to be critiqued!

I like the vibrancy that you have going on in this shot. Your lighting is pretty harsh in this shot as you can see from the bounce that is going on in there. I think that a closer crop all around to make a sqaure crop would have focused us more on the marco that it is . The center is a jumble of abstract and should have been concentrated there.

even though your shot is full of colours it is coming across as fairly flat, I played with it roughly and this is what i got now i used brightness and contrast, selective colours in black only, adn then repeat and flip. I am not saying you have to do this, but it gives you another idea of what could be done iwth your shot to make it more abstract and with a feeling of depth.

Score of 62%, I'm not too disappointed. I'm in the top half, which is good :D

Pretty good, but something about it does not come off as strong to me as this sort of shot should be. Not sure if it is the lighting, sharpness, or what.

IMO I think I would have cropped out the left side of the picture and some of the right, focusing in on the center where the picture is in much sharper focus and extremely abstract in colors
