 OMG! A blue??? In a FS??? Thank you!!!

I got a few requests to share the setup for this shot and have to admit that this was not a setup shot, it was actually taken outside against dark water. I was surprised to find a blooming lotus so late in the summer and took one shot as I was passing by.

As far as the processing goes, the adjustments were pretty small -- shadows, conrast and brightness, and saturation. I cloned out a small black dot and did some burning on the background. I also tried out Topaz Detail on it, which worked pretty well and did not create too many jagged lines around the edges.

Yeah, I knew this was the winner. I thought for sure this was done with a flash from behind, fantastic capture. I'm wondering why I only gave you an 8. 'gratz to you!

omg this is frickin beautiful! it seriously feels like im looking at a real flower in front of my laptop. its so soft, the way that petals are soft and kinda squishy. truely amazing, very big congrats on the fs blue:)

Beautiful. This definitely has commercial appeal. My nit is that I'd have gone with a more subtle pink edge to the frame, but no big deal.
