Greetings from the Critique Club!
The message
This image very effectively displays the power and majesty of the falls. Having them peek out behind the mountain, with lots of people to provide scale is a creative change from the typical tourist photo. And it used deep DOF very effectively.
Creative choices
Again, the point of view works great. The diagonal line enhances the dynamic feeling evoked by the falls. And the mountain and sky are nicely balanced. Great composition! A polarizer might have improved the sky.
Technical aspects
Slightly overexposed, but it's not serious. Focus is perfect, with just the right amount of USM. Color rendition is great. And I certainly agree that the full resolution would be a lot more spectacular, but you did a good job making this work within the DPC limits. |

Wow! I've never seen that angle before (I assume it's Niagara). I'd like to see a little more sky and less foreground. |

Nice shot. You have capture the DOF nicely by taking this picture from a slight distance from the subject. That is quite a waterfall. I am interested to see where it is. |
