I love this photo. I gave it a 10, and left a message, but my fingers must have not been working so great, and the message never came up. It brought back old memories for me when I went to Grammar school in California, especially the ink wells. The boys would often try to stick one of my pigtails in the ink well. If I remember correctly, I think the desk top used to raise up, and we kept our papers and pencils inside. Thank you for helping me remember the good old days with your nifty photo.

I didnt get a chance to vote on this challenge, and to be honest with you i only checked the thumbs out like 20 minutes before the challenge ended.. But this pic caught my attention! I actually said to myself "this is going to win!"
Very nice job!!! Beautiful composition, the B&W sepia works perfect here, and the textures you got from all the elements are amazing!! Very well deserved! |

AWESOME! Is this the Historic Schoolhouse in Strawberry, AZ? My wife and I were just there a couple weeks ago (it's also a virtual geocache). I wish I could have made the trip back up to shoot for this challenge!
Brilliant entry -- hope it makes the first page; one of my favorities in this challenge for sure -- especially since I think I was just there recently! ;) |
