 When I took a quick look through heida's portfolio, I thought, high contrast, "imperfect" portraits and slices of life. So for my slice of life, I used a totally set up picture of my step daughter reading a book. I've been meaning to try more window light and throwing caution to the wind and not being afraid of anti-DPC style like blown out highlights.
I'm satisfied with the image, and really have thought its time to start taking more photos.
Ironically enough, I'm a teacher and I didn't enter the other open challenge this week--Back To School

This is a different processing. I think I like the submission more, but the processing of the outtake may be more stylistically meeting the challenge. Who knows... maybe I've completely missed the ball.

Love the use of shutter speed in this shot. FLipping the page like that, genious. Toning is good! But, I wish it was sharper.
