 When I saw this challenge I thought it would really inspire me, but because I have been moving a lot and haven't had any time to shoot anything I didn't try to shoot at all. Tonight I just finished a long day when my friend came to my room wanting to go out, so I thought I might try to shoot something on the street in a style I identify with heida for the challenge, since NYC is such a great place for street photography. This is literally a snapshot grabbed on the street of a girl who was looking at something and blinked right when I took the shot. I really liked the strained/relaxed contrast in this and thought it might fit well with this challenge. I am interested to see what the reaction is to this shot, if any.

I love the processing in this photo, great grain and great b/w, great mysterous girl in the photo, just hate that &$%& car in the back! :) but best processing Ive seen so far!

I'm wishing I never voted in this challenge, as I'm discovering I really don't understand Heida's style, and I'm clearly not qualified to vote on these images. So throwing some extra weight on images that are in black and white and mysterious or sublime in some way, I'm almost voting this like a free study.

And I like this. Heida or no Heida, this is getting high marks from me. Great!

One of my top 5 for the challenge. It's such an unanticipated moment in time - a capture of the unexpected. Lovely grain. A real tribute to Heida's "other" style.
