My fave part of this is the shadow of the post/light mimicking the stance of the person. It helps that the shadow is the only thing in focus. |

Absolutely compelling! I agree with Yanko!
I credited you with someone else's image in this challenge.....Sorry Deb! I do love this one, especially the shadow of the traffic lights on the wall.....and the sixties feel.....it's those knee high white boots.... Congrats on the well deserved Posthumous post blur! .... |

gave this an 8. was going to comment during voting but was worried that what I wanted to say might sound 'arty' or pretentious.

A good example of what looks like a missed focus with a compelling result. |

Like the desaturated palette here. Good use of vertical lines, especially how the shadow continues the echo of pole and person. |

there are other out of focus city shots, but I think this one works. It has very controlled hues and great work on the tones. I like the balance of the poles and am glad you included both - they compliment/mimic the corner of the building. Very well seen and taken. 8 |

Now *that* is an impressive missed focus. :-)
I really like the contrast behind the creamy colors and the surprisingly strong shadow. |

lensbaby is only good when it's good, and this is good. I'm back in the 60s, in the eyes of one of its great street photographers.
You get a Posthumous Blur Ribbon . |

Now this I love. I can't say it enough, there's just something about the lensbaby oof that's so darned good. Add to that, it's an interesting street scene with deliberate partial desat to accentuate the signal and complete the story, and you have a great recipe.
I'd say this was Zigomar's entry, but there's no green in it ;) |

I avoided the Lensbaby for this one because I felt that since the lens is all about selective focus and because that act of focussing is (for me) the very essence of its use, its applicability for this challenge would seem a little diminished. -every unfocussed element becomes a choice.
However, your choice of selective focus is very clever and sufficiently obtuse to fulfil a 'missed criteria': having said all that, I'm really only scoring on whether I find the use of blur / focus / lack of focus compelling - in this case I do. 7. |
