This is on the island of Oahu and about 2 miles from where I live, a scenic vantage point called the Pali Lookout. This spot is known for it's strong winds because of the way the mountains sort of funnel the tradewinds through this valley.
Historically, this is where the final battle between King Kamehemeha's army and a rival army took place. Kamehameha's army pushed the opposing forces back to the top of this cliff side and pushed them off to their deaths. After that battle, the entire Hawaiian island chain was united under one rule.
If you're ever visiting Oahu, this is one of those must see spots and it's very accessable, it's just a short drive off the main highway.

It will probably please many voters. The scenery is captivating. Great deep DOF and lovely colours. 9. |

Panoramic shot, great DOF, and vibrant colors. Nice, suffused lighting. Too bad you couldn't add some water droplets for the Dpers. Is this abstract realism or realistic abstraction? Last thought: what about constructing a plastic curved piece and having a ladybug in the foreground? |

It's too bad about the haze. This would be just beautiful on the right day! |

Nice depth of field here. Feel the lighting maybe a bit off- difficult conditions to say the least and maybe another time of day would have worked better for this. Amazing place though...beautifull mountains |
