 This actually is fake, it was shot in mid-afternoon on a bright and stormy day, the same day I shot my FS entry actually :-) But I wanted to experiment and see if I could create, legally in basic editing, a "film noir" night-shot look; they shoot all those in daylight, of course.

It actually wasn't hard; most of the conversion was in RAW settings, and Topaz Detail was used to desaturate and control the luminance of the different color ranges. No selections were used in the making of this image :-)

Will it score well? I doubt it, but it was fun... I wanted to eschew the "obvious" solutions (anyone for dark, dramatic portraits and still lives? not me, thanks...) and enter a low-key landscape, so I did.

I like the composition, especially the layers but also the angle, and the darkness suits the scene well. I would like to see the shadow details better but i understand that we're dealing with basic editing and the topic. 8

I really like the lower half of this shot, but in contrast to that I really don't like the clouds. They feel way to processed and actually look plastic or like they have been added on afterwards.
