 Shot using a remote on a camera 4 inches off the ground. (I love my Gorrillapod!)

ACR conversion for color and crop, light gaussian blur on a layer, a bit of dodging in the shadows, burning on the ground. resize for DPC

Love this shot, Risty! And not surprised you put a gorillapod to good use. I guess you had a filter on to help protect lens from dust?

Oh btw, have you ever shot at that really cool x-country course out in the desert - can't remember if it's Arizona or New Mexico - believe it's called Moonrock? I remember seeing a writeup on it in PH years ago and thinking what fun it would be to ride that course.

Nowadays, though, I think it would be far more fun to shoot that course instead!

Wonderful timing, great clarity, and very good angle! REally shows the power of the horse and the grace of both the horse and the rider.
