Though the intent, I imagine, was a dark photograph, perhaps a trifle brighter wouldn't have hurt |

Nice low key shot. Just a bit more contrast would have made it feel a little less "dull". |

I think it looks cool, just a bit dark. |

Too dark for my taste. I wish it was a little lighter to see more detail, I can barely see the photographer. |

I like this type of dark moody work. Not sure if DPC'ers will though. |

I like the angle that the light is coming from but I still think it is a little dark. |

Wonderfully subtle lighting effects, here. |

Hold that camera steady, cause you know what happened to the other photographer! |

Nice use of lowkey. You got just enough of a catchlight on the cheek and eye, as well as the lens, to nicely outline the photographer as a subject.
What I find the most interesting about your photo, though, is that the flower is really more prominent in the shot. I find it interesting, because it captures the photographer's position well. In photography, the photographer is always a subsidiary, an observer, and the subject the center of attention. The photographer is there but should not be an acting role. In this challenge, I think it's great that you managed to capture this aspect while still keeping the photog in the shot and a strong correlation to capturing them in a portrait.
Nice job. (no vote) |
