I'm trying to work really hard on my lighting. I am finding learning the technical side of lighting is a little intimidating. I had previously built a soft box with two windows on the sides and top which I covered with fabric to diffuse the light. For this set up I didn't put the marbles inside the soft box but beside it on the right-hand side (outside the box) and directed my flash through the left hand window of the box so it was diffused through both fabric windows to soften it. I then had a light pointed just to the right of the marbles to try to hit the marbles but not the foreground.

Well shot and great PP. Besides the abstract I can't place a feeling to this shot. Still a masterful piece of photography. 8

Those are marbles, wouldn't have guessed that. The tilt does add to the feeling of motion as these seem like they could start rolling at any moment. Interesting choice of background.

Although you lost some details in the downsizing, the contrast is amazing. The play with B&W is simply outstanding.
Greta one!

This will do really good... perhaps even a ribbon! (no vote)
