Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Planes, Trains and Automobiles (Advanced Editing II)
Camera: Nikon Coolpix 5400
Location: Canary Wharf, London
Date: Jun 13, 2004
Aperture: f/7.3
ISO: 50
Shutter: 1/146
Date Uploaded: Jun 13, 2004

This is a pre-release shot of the 2004 Porsche Carrera GT - that's why it's got the cover on it. Release date is Monday, so unfortunately you don't get lots of shiny metal. It'll be different from almost all shots in the challenge, and will score like it was a mistake. Probably.

awesome, I had no idea what this was and didn't want to read your explanation with purpose: it's a fantastic photo leaving so much place for imagination!

I am impressed with the mystery effect. If you had not provided a summary I would have not been able to guess... Different and forces the viewer to question...

Stands out from the crowd.....curiously, gives a real sense of speed. Well observed.

oh man, that sucks. the fact that it was under-wraps, i'm not referring to the picture itself. I went to the moto-expo on Friday the 18th, and there it was; shiny, silver, mean, GORgeous! took LOTS of pictures of it (and all the other cars - highlight of te day was sitting in the Bentley Continental GT - felt very Penelope Keith). one of the most perfectly design cars ever (i'll put a couple on the portfolio tonight after THE game), though it had different colour wheel nuts on each side, which i thought was odd. however, your shot is still interesting different enough, technically decent, so i'm surprised it scored less than 6.

This one was my highest rated picture. Too bad for the lower finish. Great job.

A creative approach, with just enough detail to identify the subject, and some nice soft diagonal lines to add excitement.

I like the simplicity of this. A different view of an automobile. The three wrinkles on the mirror are a bit annoying.

One of my favorites in this challenge. Like the surreal quality.

Nice original idea in which you can use light and shade to create your image.
This has worked well in my opinion..very creative.

Oooooh. Very good idea. Shapes and shadows are very alluring. Edge of the mirror looks out of focus and loses some impact.

Excellent. Lighting works well, and this is nicely off-beat but still fits the challenge beautifully. Love it.

Good subject. The lines in the car cover's fabric and natural shape of the rear-view mirror really draw the eye across the photo. Lighting and composition is nice too.

Car cover or brassier? It has a soft & supple look to it, nice texture too!
