On the night of November 18th, the Lee River's banks swelled and burst their banks. A large portion of the City of Cork lay under 3-4 ft of water. This was taken at the water's edge nearly 1km from where the river broke. No 2012 but still an experience.

I got it, so did PennyStreet and Wyvern and omg NikonJeb did too. More proof that Joe Bloggs should never be hired to judge professional photo competitions...theres a reason why there's a panel of (respected) judges chosen for that. Those 18 x 1's, 15 x 2's, 29 x 3's and 45 x 4's should be ashamed of themselves for not affording you more than 1/1000th of a second of their time...

PS. Hope all is well by now.

Maybe a title like "We need prayers" would have helped people with the understanding of your photo but the flood reference should have spoken for itself, IMO. I am surprised this didn't do better and I still really like it.

Clever concept, but subtle. I honestly didn't get it at first.

I am trying to get the connection of the title/picture with religion and I guess I am missing your message...(I can be quite dense at times)...that given...I really like the water reflection (don't like the devastation this would have done) but it is a really cool capture

Great photo, but in no way does it suggest religion to me.

Edit: Having discussed it, it appears that I didn't make the connection between flooding and religion.

Great reflections and take on the topic .. I'm trying to figure out where this was taken. I just returned from a short trip to New Orleans where I was visiting for the first time since being there during Hurricane Katrina. I hope everything is fine by now where you are. Nice photo. 7
