Love the border Harvey. It really draws you into the shot. It's a great shot too. Love how you froze the action. While I completely agree with the fact it does fit the challenge I still don't really think "Science" when I see it. While you got a pretty good score I bet this could have gotten a better score in another challenge. Great shot man.

It's a shame that some voters (me as well in this and many other cases) doesn't quite get the full extent of the photo until after the voting has ended. This is a great photo. I'm glad I wasn't to harsh on you. Gratulations on making it to your top 5 on your profile ;)

Thank you all for the great comments! This is why I'm here.

The line at the back are the tiles at edge of pool.
The shot was taken in the daytime and made to look dark with curves.
The large border was to draw you into the shot.
I saw this challenge as a shot of something scientific happening, not of an object of science.

This needs to be a motivational poster. The frozen action is great! The colors, too :)

What's that line in the background?

I really like the colors on your entry. Good capture, and the largest frame I've ever seen at dpc somehow enhance the photo. But overall, it looks like a perfect shot of someone that just hit the water from a high jump, I can't get the science feel from it (then again, who am I to say that with the entry I have...). I believe 6 is a good compromise. I can't get the science feeling, but your kickassphoto shoehorns its way in, eh?.

Though I can't get the idea, this is a good photo. However, the border is too huge for me. 6
