 Taken at home in a dark room and a snooted flash to get the light exactly where I wanted. Then I bumped the exposure, adjusted curves and levels, increased shadow depth and sharpened, resized then added the border.

I think you need just a touch more light on the cleaver. At first I thought it was a bottle.

Beautiful and dramatic, although maybe a bit too dramatic on the lighting, especially near the handle of the cleaver. What is that thing just below it, in the dark?

I would have bumped this up if the blade of the butcher knife had been just a little more visible...neat handle

Great lighting focus and colours, perhaps a bit dark for some but I think it's ok as it draws my eye to the lit area. I would have raised a bit higher in the frame however.

I like this. The composition is good any my only complaint is that the cleaver has become part of the background, where I feel it would have been better being a little more distinct.

Great composition, I like the fact that it's so uniquely lighted, very controlled.
Good negative space on top, allowing the photo to breathe.

needs a bit more lighing on the chopper. a back light would have been so cool
