There's a second person?
Yeah... much too dark, but still deserved better than it got with the voters. Good concept and composition. |

This is worth more than the score you got. A little dark, I had to turn up might brightness to see the 2nd person, I think you could have bought out a little more detail without loosing the mood. But you subject matter is fantastic and out side your usual shots. Don't be dishartend by the score this is good. |

Love the depth of this and how it draws me into the photo. |

OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy). I'll be picking one of these images for the Mu (most underrated) award:
Positives: Great perspective, composition and story. I think you're very brave to offer this up in the FS for the voters - a vote splitter for sure. However, I think there is much to reward the patient viewer - the guy in the doorway, the bottle in the hand of the other guy - nothing contrived here; it offers a raw feel.
Critical stuff: Just the above really, the image is what it is and it will appeal to a minority.
Overall: Good, gritty work. |

This becomes more artful the longer I look at it... my eyesight isn't the best so it took me a while to see the second person, but I like that.... the brown tones set the mood, it's pretty dreary - thanks for a different kind of shot! |
