Well, of course dpc voters don't like harsh lighting, but here it's used to mimic the sharpness of the blades. I guess they missed that. <"¤">

The woodgrain ruins it for me. Not sure if it's the color, or what.

I don't know if the lighting from the left helped this image. I think the cutout edges might have been more interesting than their handles.

An good subject but for me the composition could have been more interesting. I feel the tools could have been at more of an angle to the picture and the picture itself would be better if it was the right way round rather than being on it's side.

The flash makes the light and shadows look very harsh

Bright, perhaps a bit too much so. Shadows are distracting.

The light seems a little too harsh. I suppose it adds to that "summer feeling" but I think overall a softer light would be more beneficial to this image.

Lighting is pretty harsh and makes it difficult to see the business ends of the tools.
