 Yes, its utterly uncreative, uninspiring and mostly cliché macro shot - with 1 hour for the rollover left and having decided I have to enter something in every open challenge to justify membership - I challenged myself to create something I had not done before!

And its not as easy as it seems when you first look at those other inspiring shots, it was a challenge indeed getting the right exposure, right focus and the right background!

Thanks for these inspiration (2 that had stuck in my head for a while)

Congratulations on your high finish - you're a bit harsh with the self-denigration. I think that this shot is awesome. I gave you a 9 for it.

But everybody has to do a shot like this some time, just to see it is harder than it seems. Congrats on the HM!

Nice DOF on this macro. Clarity of the subject is excellent. Only angling the nail or needle in the shot would have made it better.
