My tongue in cheek literal interpretation of the Overhead Power Lines challenge.

Thanks to lutchenko for being crazy enough to let me tie him to a chair and his son connor for throwing cold water at him. :-)

Yes I know it's been processed to within an inch of it's life but softly softly with the sliders was not giving the gritty feel.

I guess this shot will at least stand out from the other 50 well taken pylons, but I can't decide how it will be received by the DPC voters. I am expecting a wide deviation on the scores!

This is great and should have scored higher. Looks like the voters were stuck in their little boxes.

I was expecting a wide standard deviation of scores with my literal interpretation of the challenge but 16 scores below 3 is somewhat crazy. I appreciate the DNMC comments but, as per the challenge title and description are these not overhead power lines?

Powerlines - make OVERHEAD POWER TRANSMISSION LINES or the EQUIPMENT to SUPPORT them the subject of your photograph

Thanks for all the positive comments, but I guess it's back to a boring formula shot for me this week!

...and so you got that wide deviation. ;-) I thought this was going to be top ten, and I obviously thought it was a Lutchenko joint. At least I recognized him. :P

I'll bet that's the last time he criticizes his wife's cooking.

Nice out of the box thinking, well executed and very creative but it's a pity that it does not fit the challenge description even remotely. 5
"Are they MONSTROUS EYESORES, or ELEGANT SENTINELS? Instead of using your clone tool to get rid of them, make OVERHEAD POWER TRANSMISSION LINES or the EQUIPMENT to SUPPORT them the subject of your photograph."
