I live taking candids at weddings, obscured in the background where I am unobtrusive...
Perhaps a bit flat and some grain but it fits the challenge. Overcast day so I had to push the ISO a bit just to get enough shutter speed vs DOF without using the flash. I'm happy with the slight blur on the rose petals, the many enthusiastic expressions in this shot and the petal throwing hands add interest. There will be shots entered that outclass this in the wow dept, but it might stir up the comment dept. Then again, maybe it wont! |

I didn't vote in this challenge. (was too busy researching for a better camera :-) )
This is such a natural photograph, look at the expressions of all the people.... Truly enthusiastic. and the best part is that you have successfully captured the emotions without having do a setup kind of thing. i like it because of its spontaneity |

Thanks for the votes and comments. There were 4 hired guns at this wedding and at least every other guest had a P&S, bridge or DSLR with them. There were 2 videographers. It was impossible to get a shot without someone having a camera in their hands. If your getting married, insist on only 2 photogs, 1 video and that all other guests will be frisked on the way in.
Re: Snapshottish? Ok, but why? It was a casual family (of mine) outdoor wedding and not high society papparazzi with all the glitter and gloss of Hollywood.
This was an emotional style impromptu shot and I was asked specifically to get these types of images on the day rather than stuffy, staid, bride smiling at groom or "all the sisters together" now shots.
I saw this coming and prepared myself for the throwing of the flowers by climbing onto a wall. All the other official photog's were mingling at crowd level getting facials...(pun intended).
As for the flowers, no significance other than they fit the bride's/maids colour scheme of the day.
Voters who entered a photo in this challenge gave me: Avg (participants): 4.7500 and yet didn't bother to comment... 190 of 232 voters gave me 5 or higher and I got some comments, kind and not so kind! Thank you for those! |

Good shot for the challenge, but unfortunately looks a bit of a snapshot. |

Nice capture. Looks like everyone is having a great time. An orange flower? Cultural significance? |
