Background is a bit busy but a good photo

I like the idea - and the bottom half of the image works very well by itself. But unfortunately, as soon as you add the bald bright sky at the top left, it becomes unmanageable. The selective desat appears to be very well done.

Great idea for the challenge, I think the title adds that little extrat bit too.

Maybe moving the camera round a little to the left so that the flowers have a dark background would have helped. The white leaves of the flowers are overtaken by the white sky. 6

Nice idea, and effective technique in separating the color from the desaturated B&W. I find the one flower you missed distracting, and I think it would have been more effective if the leaves had been left colored.

Somehow the flowers aren't strong enough to draw the attention, my eye keeps wandering to the flask because it's so perfectly focused. Cropping out part of the flask would have made the flowers more of a focal point. I like the texture of the table.

Good idea. I just wish the flowers were real and not silk (look like silk to me anyway) ... it makes the sentiment artificial no matter how good the intention was :-(. If the flowers were real, my apologies.

Pretty good idea. The flowers blend into the background, though, really detracts from what you're going for. Better composition would've prevented that. Excellent attempt regardless.
