 The Shot: This is a water globe..."as seen on TV", Shot in the semi-darkness with full but misdirected flash.

The globe's spigot (the long tale with a hole) was stood up in a paper towel roll with a clear 25 watt Christmas bulb in the opposite end, that is what produced the blueish ring at the bottom from the primary color of the globe itself. I bounced the flash off of a Compact Disc which caused the other colors except the orange which I think comes primarily from it being near a window frame that is a vibrant orange. The globe is simply clear with blue and white spots. I took 27 identical exposures to finally get the colors I was looking for by changing the angle of the CD slightly but used only a single exposure to produce the final copy.

Post Processing: Sharpened, saturated quite a lot to bring up the blues and oranges. Then, I applied a weak yellow tint followed by an even weaker magenta tint to alter the colors to where I wanted them. Otherwise it is as taken... Not even cropped.

this is some type of globe...IMO I really wish you could get closer to this and isolate just a small part of it...they can create some very beautiful designs...love the colors in your picture
