 This is the first sunshine of the year 2010. At Sakher in Bahrain I spent the New Year eve. Me and my family spent the hall night partying. I slept there in a tent, it was awesome night. At the morning I’ve taken my Nikon D40 SLR and took some pictures. my photo 101 project. I took this picture with manual shooting mode, ISO 200, shutter speed 1/800 sec, and aperture f/14. The lens I used is NIKOR 18.00-55.00mm. The scene was in front of a stone collection and the sunshine. While I was in my way suddenly the sky become cloudy making the component of the picture more colorful and creative it was at 3pm. The picture was taken in RAW then exported to jpeg by Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.3.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Decent shot of a sunrise. Shooting directly into a strong source of light like the sun is never easy, so you managed well there with the tones you got in the sky. The shot is not overly post-processed.

However...this does have a very flat snapshot feel to it and the composition is quite weak. There is a passing nod to the rule of thirds, but you must pay more attention to the other aspects of composition.

Finally, this is a photo of the sun, in a moon challenge, so it's always dicey to swim against the tide to that extent!
