Great idea! After seeing endless photos that isolate some small object in color, yours is a real novelty. Only thing I'd have done different is to have the desaturation graduated along the bridge, rather than the abrubt change.

I love the idea here! It's one of the most intriguing uses of selective desat in the group. It is also appropriate that you put the farmland in green and the city in grayscales. Exposure right on, composition ok (but i'd prefer the river - and therefore the entire scene -a bit more diagonal.) This should finish within sight of ribbonsville.

woa, that's pretty cool. i really like this twist on the challenge.

clever idea. Maybe brighten up the river and forground to point up contrast more.

i really like this. i think this should get bonus marks alone for originality... post editting i think i might have liked to have seen the change from mono to colour through the middle of the river, with fade between the two extremes. how you would do that i'm not entirely sure, but i think it might be worth trying... also, it might actually be like that, but the bridge appears a bit too blue? aside from those minor points, i think this is a great take on the challenge, really witty and appeals to me muchly. 9.

Fantastic idea and my top choice for this challenge!!!
But maybe the river should been desaturated to? And maybe the other side should have been "on the other side" so to speak? Now the grass is greener on THIS side... Still very good.

Great Idea! Must have been a great shot in color too

Very good title and meaning to this. For the title I'd use "The Grass is Always Greener". :) Also might be better with the city part more B&W rather then sepia. Great idea!

This is a great idea! I hope people understand it and don't lower your score because so much of it is saturated. I like it a lot... 8

Rather interesting take on the challenge. A little ambiguous though. I can't find a resting point or a real subject...

interesting idea

Hmmm. Very Imaginative. I like it.

Very original! The only thing I would have liked better is to have the border between color/no color not on the middle of the bridge, but at the point where it touches the other side. More work, I know, but IMO would have been more powerful. 8

I like this photo! Good idea!

well they say the grass is always greener.....

(Ibet I'm not the first person to make this horrible pun)

I like it but:

I think it would have been better if only the river or the near bank were coloured, not both.

The far side looks more sepia toned than greyscale which seems kind of out of place.

Very cool. I think it might looks slightly better to have the color start at the bridge on the other side than in the middle.

But I like the concept here very much. 7.

Great Idea. Full marks for creativity. Not sure but might be better with the river b&w also. Then again maybe not.
