 Bear Lake in RMNP, Estes Park, CO. Fog on the mirrored lake at sunrise. Reflecting in the lake is the Glacier Gorge area, including Long's Peak. This is a different set of images than I used for the HDR challenge. My postprocessing tools and my ability to use them have evolved. I listened to all the feedback from my HDR challenge blue ribbon image and applied the suggestions here.

Three images blending for detail enhancement in PhotoMatix plugin for Aperture. Also, use of Nik Software's Viveza 2 to selectively improve areas of the image.

Four hours before rollover. Pretty good score and lots of excellent comments. I agree with the constructive criticisms. I completely understand why this image may have received some low votes, as another from this photo shoot topped the HDR challenge. It was identifiable as mine and some people just don't like to see a repeat of a front page winner, even when it's processed differently and consists of different frames.

Richard, this still literally takes my breath away every time I look at it. Even if I didn't have such an emotional attachment to that place, the photography is like none other. I'm not sure a better picture of Bear Lake has ever been taken -- by ANYONE! What an accomplishment!!

See you in the snow in just a few weeks! YAYYYY!

Lacks the clarity & crispness in this HDR. There is a lot of potential in this shot with the lighting , the mist and all the other natural elements.
Composition is good, 7 , could have been better IMO

This is obviously a very beautiful scene that has been very well captured and edited. At this level of quality, the clipped shadow / reflection of the foreground rock seems a little out of place. Splitting hairs of course.
