Really, really, really lucky tonight. I took this three minutes after the challenge was announced but about 20 minutes before I knew about it. I was almost going to call it quits for the night when I decided to take 4 or 5 more pictures of this particular setup.
Lighting was an SB600 bounced off an umbrella directly at the apple. There was also a small flash that could be triggered by another flash. (noname brand flash that you can't adjust). If you look above and to the left of the bottom apple you can see a little bit of it. I debated cloning it out but thought it wasn't "that" bad and if I removed it it might look ugly and/or get me DQ'd.
Editing:
Levels, saturation adjustment, (desaturated the blue which was the color of mat that apples were on). 300 v1 preset. Removed a couple of spots that looked like sensor dust (were probably just water marks on the mat...thank goodness for Advanced editing!)
Export to TIFF. Resized, sharpened and export to JPG.
Post challenge (and DQ): yup. check your date on your camera. If you don't bad things happen. like DQs |
