Scary, isn't it? I saw a shot on another site recently with secret serviceman patroling from the rooftop of the Capital Building.
I like the black and white and your perspective. Good contrasts. |

Nice idea. Would like to also have the guard a bit more in focus - more depth. Not even Washington memorial looks sharp here? |

I really like the silhouette of the officer against the sky. just one thing...have you ever used a gradient before? It would have added more definition to the outline of the Washington Monument...try it sometime...it's amazing how it works... |

Guarding the capital and the Great Monument, he stood there at the ready. Great silhouette of the on duty policeman as he overlooks the capital. This is a slightly above average shot but increasing the dynamic range of the B&W tones would bump it into the exceptional category. Aside for the silhouette of the officer the rest of the photo appears a bit flat in the range of tones. Playing with Brightness/Contrast or adjust Shadows/Highlights/Midtones would greatly help boost the dynamic range. I would say that playing with the elusive S-curve would do the trick as well, but I still have not figured out how to do that in PP. |
