Greetings from the Critique Club!
As I noted during voting, this shot has lovely natural light - you really took great advantage of it! I find it interesting that your commenters seem split over the tree - some like it (or it doesn't bother them), some don't like it. I'm in the "like it" camp - I think it works just fine here. The colors are warm and natural, and I see from your notes that you didn't do much to bring them out - nice light hand with the processing. My only suggestion is as I noted during voting that it seems to be a bit oversharpened - this is visible mostly in the tree branches and it is incredibly hard to sharpen for web sized viewing without oversharpening tree branches. Overall, I really do like this picture and am surprised it didn't score higher than it did, but am pleased to see it made your personal top 5! |

Effectively framed to show off all the swirling geometry. |

Beautifull. Simple and just perfect. Processing in tree branches a bit over but a great pic never the less. 8 |

Kind of like nothing is straight - all curves. Good eye. |

Shame that the tree is in the way but I still think it's a great picture. Now I'm interested in what this is. |

good clarity, but a little oversharpened and not sure about the tree being all over your main subject |

Love the colors here and the movement in the lines of the wall, door/windows and the rotunda itself. I like your crop choice. This begs the question, "What's inside?". |

The tree obscures so much of the building, you are left wondering if that is the focus of the image (especially since it is sharply focused.) Perhaps selective depth of field could have solved that? |

An interesting building, and the use of the curved wall and road leading to it is good composition. However, the tree in front of the building though is a major distraction and does not add to the image...... |

First thought - what gorgeous light and color! Nicely edited (though perhaps a bit oversharpened at DPC-size - it would be fine at full size) to bring out the warmth of the light and stone here. |

I sense some HDR at work here, which if it is the case you have controlled well, though it has left the branches looking just a touch luminous.
I do think there's something a touch odd about the sky, I can't quite place what it is, but something about it doesn't look quite right. Perhaps it's just the way the smaller branches are sitting against it. |
