Good eyes on observing the wing. However, it seems like it is a bit flat. The title draws my attention to the torn edge but when I sit back and observe the photo as a whole it loses it potency for me.

A technically proficient image, but not much wow factor for this viewer.....5

lighting is flat. try cropping a bit differently for some added interest

The noon lighting is not flattering unfortunately , 5

I think this shot lacks a lot of contrast. Although you were able to get close to the moth the positioning and the colors of this image lack detail and interest. Good luck though.

The lighting's a bit harsh and the angle isn't the best for us to see your subject.

Very harsh lighting and maybe crop a bit more on this. important part of the butterfly looks away here

The centered composition and the harsh shadows don't benefit this image.

overexposed...central composition is quite bland...perhaps the use of some shading for lighting would have been a good idea (piece of card)???

looks too much like a simple snapshot to me for this challenge.

A very nice sentiment... Good title and nice image - for me, the shadow is a bit distracting here though.

The harsh lighting/shadow distracts from the subject....it is unfortunate you can only see a small part of the color on the wing

IMO I would like to see the butterfly "fill the frame"...your colors a really well done

Nice colour in the wings. Butterfly is a bit too centered though and the strong shadows are not ideal.

colors are a bit drab and the light is harsh at near mid day light.

(sigh) Age even gets to butterflies. Lovely colors on a pretty sunny day.

i gave you a low score (4), why?

'cause the subject is too centered, and the contrasts are too net here so i can't see details in the lower part of this butterfly.

Maybe ambient light was too hard, i know that take photograph of butterflies isn't so easy, but at least the composition could be better, i do not know your macro skills, so take my words "as are", is only my vision of this shot.

Perhaps a capture from a slightly different angle would've been better.
