Greetings from the Critique Club!
I think the tones in this portrait are excellent. The light on the far side of the face away from the camera is a little strong and flattens things a little. ISO seems a little high at 1600...surely 400 or even 200 would have been adequate. Good use of leading lines with her eyes.
Background is a little blah, but if there were something interesting to look at, the eye would have been drawn away from her. I like the perspective and expression.
Overall, an unconventional portrait of a girl thinking, but it works well. Good work!
Feel free to pm me with any questions,
Susan |

it really changes the picture when the eyes are on you (looking at you), it engages you as an outsider and draws you in, makes your part of the moment...you have good clear focus, a little heavier hand with the USM to bring out some of the details of the mouth and eyes...just my opinion... |

Good portrait but harsh lighting and uninteresting background.
The noise in some shadows is very visible too. |

In one sense this is peaceful, but look at it for more than a second, and it feels ominous. I'm torn myself. Nice work. |

Looking at her I don't get the feeling she is being torn. She's just looking at something, no expression. Very competent portrait, awesome work on the skin. |
