Okay, I didn't see this one while I was voting. This is the second time I see this happen. Not to complain about the winner b/c she did a good job. But honestly the photo was a bit cheesy. I guess that's what the people on this site like, b/c time after time the cheesiest most cliche image wins.
Your photo is PERFECT, I think i have only given out one 10 so far. I give you a 10 gladly. The movement, the expression, the compostion, the DOF, all on point. You colored the shirt which was a perfect choice. It draws attention to the exact point of interest and compliments the image perfectly. you did a wonderful job, really. In my mind your photo took the blue ribbon. I give up on this site and the consistent voting for cheesy and cliche images. Congrats.

Wow I can hear the sound of her hitting the dirt. If I close my eyes I can see her running up to the starting line, hear her gasp as her muscles launch her up into the air, see her stretch for the distance, then...

| Great subject and job with the desaturation. Possibly some dodging of the sand, or burning of the background may have helped create a little more contrast and emphasis on the subject. Nice photo nonetheless..... 7 |

I like the tonal qualities of this image and also the way you have captured the action. The red top just adds that little bit of impact and gives the image a lift.

| Fantastic capture! Such detail and clarity. The pop of red really makes the shot. I just wish there was a little more of the jumper and a little less of the sand but then there was probably not much you could do about that. :) Overall it is one of my favorites and you did a great job! |
