Perhaps moving your model away from the background, if you don't like the look of it, and using less DOF might help disguise it.

Perhaps a bit of a shoehorn for the challenge, but the casual lighting and improvised backdrop give it a gritty from-the-basement feel.

GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB
First,  luci11e let me add my welcome to DPC. You've been here about a month now and your posts are a delight in the forums. And this is the second of your images that I have had the good luck to enjoy a second time via the Critique Club.
Most of the 'drawbacks' in this image have been discussed already in the comments you received. So there isn't much sense in dwelling on them.  Mycelium's comment probably sums it up the best.
Obviously your lighting wasn't optimum for this splendid specimen of manhood. for example: It would have been terrific to see more detail of that tattoo on the left side.
Still, you're having fun and learning more about photography as you seek out fun images for the Challenges. Keep up the good work, and you'll be scoring up there with the best of 'em soon enough.

lol Thanks Spiff! And tell your daughter the tatts are very real.
So, as you can see I'm not "into myself" as it's not a self portrait and the title isn't meant to be "egotistical"....what it is though is a spoff off that song....Don't You Wish Your Girlfriend Was HOT LIKE ME! lol
As I said, I just thought this would be fun as I knew there would be female versions of HOT so I figured I'd give the women of DPC something to look at too. And Texxsmith - women know when other women are hot - and men do know when other men are hot.
I really love all those side lite black/white photos so I thought I'd give it a try and though I know I still have alot to learn about it I figure this is not too bad for a first try at it. And next time I try it I'll use something besides the comforter as backdrop. ;-)
ETA - the thumbnail looks GREAT! LOL

Sorry, not doing much for me, but I'll ask an expert, my 19 year old daughter.
.... She says (with a smile on her face): "Uh, huh!, he's pretty hot." She also wants to know if the tattoos are real. |

You/the model have a great build--there's plenty to work with here using a male torso as a study in 'hotness.' But the lighting is uneven, too hot on the chest, there are weird shadows, and the bedspread/background has just got to go. For this I think you need a solid black background, or at least something more carefully considered. Also, the title comes across as egotistical.
FWIW, here's what I think is a top-notch shot with a male model highlighting form:
