Taken in our lunch break the day of the submission deadline with some colleagues from work. These guys are really cool to have taken the time to humour me and my silly ideas.

Funny thing is, I remembered to bring everything - the softbox, the 'reflector' (which is actually a sun shade for the car), the vest that the photographer is wearing. All the props. Everything. Except the batteries for my camera! So, here's sarampo modelling with my camera, while I'm using his. Hope that's not against the rules.

I have a feeling this photo's going to get killed in voting. Let's wait and see.

After voting:
I guess this just goes to show you shouldn't use equipment that's unfamiliar to you if you've only got 10 minutes on your lunch break. Thanks a lot for putting up with me guys, a próxima vez faríamos melhor. :-)

Hi, Critique Club here...

I love the idea of this shot. I like the "photographer" giving direction.

What holds this back for me is
1) why is the flash going off, it's inconsistent with what's happening. Someone could be testing the flash, but whoever
that would be should be paying attention to it.
2) the only thing in focus is the MUA's shoulder
3) while I can live with the fingers being cut, I can't with the eye chopped in half.

So, for shots to do well on DPC, on has to pay attention to the little details because the audience here doesn't miss much.

Once again, this is a stellar idea and I would definitely want to try it again if I were you.

If I had voted in this challenge, I would have given this a 6. If the issues with the MUA didn't exist, an 8.

A different take on the perspective theme but it doesn't really grab me. 6

too busy, hard to keep my eye on one aspect of the shot, interesting take on the challenge though

great idea but I guess because of the strong light the camera couldn't focus good enough on the make up artist, it seems the focus is on her arm, 6

Interesting view but the girl is back focused and there is a lot of rule breaking on the crop (two hands, and worse: one eye).
Liked the muted tones though.

LOL funny that other photogs use those big floppy car-reflectors too!

I come back and looked at this several different times and now I'm like...."oh! now I see what's going on here!" I like this very much!

The sharpness seems to be on the shoulder and arm of the lady in front. In other words, this would seem to be the main subject of the photograph. Why not the face of the lady as if the model is focusing on her?

I can't believe I had a Canon camera on my hand...it took all my willpower not to drop it :)

Just joking, it was very nice to help Insomniac doing this shot, it was a great idea from him, and really hope it will be understood by the voters (not voting).
