Challenge: Fine Arts: Exhibit I (Advanced Editing VII*)
Camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS15
Date: Mar 4, 2010
Aperture: 3.3
ISO: 80
Shutter: 5 seconds
Date Uploaded: Mar 5, 2010

I try to forget myself, to pare my mind down to the simplest most direct expression of being, & then pick up my camera & behave naturally. I like the way the light plays with this silver fork & the results I get when I use a long exposure & some unpremeditated camera movement. It's unpredictable & nonrepeatable. A little moment in time that will never happen again. I shot this while reclined in a lazyboy, using a laptop case as a black BG & the ambient light of the TV & monitor. The glow is a very blurred instance of the fork.

Honorable Mention, Fine Arts I Juried Results 2010
Well thank you, thank you very much!

Oh I just loved this one. I can't put my finger on it, but it worked well for me. I was one of your 9s. I really liked it and think it's a crying shame that it only scored 5.1 Sorry for that.

5 - The blown area at the back detracts in my opinion.

Okay, this is one of the few images in this challenge of a prosaic object unusually photographed that actually works. The softness is compelling, the tones are nice, the duo is perfect, shapes are intriguing and touching. I feel it. I believe you are in here, somewhere... thanks, it's lovely.

Almost looks like sparks coming from the fork. Either that, or some sort of demon. Cool shot.
