It will be interesting to see how well this scores. I like the colours and the effects, but I don't think people will be so happy with the use of the "filter". ;-9 |

This is a really cool shot... I'm not sure if it falls into the Fine arts category, or into the "In the Style of" category... The style of course being Cubism... I say this because this was discussed in the forums and debated... Either way, I personally think its Fine Art, and I think it works well for the challenge. Tough to say if its a great shot, because of the effect, but honestly, that's why I like it... Pushing the boundaries around here should be rewarded... Well Done! |

5 - Not sure about the effects here (for DPC) and the composition isn't appealing to my eye. |

An unfortunately literal interpretation of what fine art photography means. As a photograph, the subject is prosaic; as fine art it does not work. Are you invested in this image? If there is another fine art challenge, enter it, and invest in the image, and its metaphor -- but don't force a metaphor -- and what it means to you. |

ooooooo..... does this break the processing rules? My first thought was yes but then I thought well if it was blurred up with processing I'd think it ok so why the discrimination against processing that introduces edges ... hmmmm |

Looks more like pointillism (or Divisionisme as sometimes called).
In cubist artworks the objects are broken up to be re-assembled in an abstracted form. Pointillism are objects painted in dots next to each other and were the different colors of paint and dots are not "mixed" but next to each other to form the color and subject.
Now if I'm not mistaken, there's a filter in Photoshop called Cubism but indeed creating the pointillism effect.
If this what you've used, then I hope you won't get DQ because I'm not sure if it's allowed to use that kind of filter, even in A.E. |
