LIghting is just a touch harsh here, making the face a little flatter than I would normally like. You did a great job of capturing his personality though. Looks like a fun loving individual!

This is a great shot, the background contrasts perfectly with the hair and the shirt, (I like that shirt, by the way :) ) The background also brings out the beautiful blue eye. The lighting is wonderful not too harsh. Over all a wonderful portrait. |

Looks like a friendly guy who won't even hurt his brother if he doesn't win a ribbon :)
Nice lighting, focus and background. |

Good focus and balance. An additional light from the back should help to make this picture better. 7 |

This really needs directional lighting. The flash is harsh and has created tight shadowing. He's obviously a nice guy though so a warmer background would probably suit his character more. That shirt is deafening! |

The lighting is too harsh (IMHO). |

Nice smile, classic pose ... but the shirt is yelling loudest of all ... kind of distracting. |

like the way the background focuses attention on your model
lighting is lovely, good coloring on his skin and clothing, no shadows
only nit....the boldness and color of the shirt takes attention away from your model's face.
overall ......a well done color studio portrait. |

I think this is a nice portrait, however the lighting seems a blit too dark. His head fades into the background. |

Pretty good pose. The lighting needs to be more subdued, as it is now it is a tad too harsh. |

This is a good portrait. Lighting is effective, background is neutral and not distracting. Focus is good. I do have a bit of a problem with the "busy" nature of the shirt...not that I don't love hawaiian shirts, mind you, but it is a bit busy...especially with the slip of undershirt at the neck. Maybe no undershirt, or outer shirt open with a more complimentary undershirt color? I don't know, I'm not a fashion guru. It's still a good portrait and is one of my top ten picks. |

Nice aloha shirt. Background doesn't really match with the subject though. |

The lighting just seems way too harsh in this shot, and the background seems to not exist. |

A background light could improve this image. Would negate the flash shadow. |

Edit: I just found you on your brother's picture.
I see the humor in it to have 2 "same" pictures in this challenge, but here's an idea.
When you would have taken a picture with the 2 of you together, you on the left, and your brother on the right, and your brothers shot, exactly the same picture, but you on the right and your brother on the left...
This would have made it even more obvious and funnier. Well if it is meant funny offcourse otherwise this whole text would make no sence..
Lighting good, backgroud good, focus good, hawai shirt very bad! |

It's a portrait in color, but there isn't anything that makes this stand out to me. The compositon is nice: the face centered and up 2/3rds.
Is there any relation of this shot with 'My Brother Bob?' |

Lighting seems a bit flat and Oh My God that shirt is criminal and VERY DISTRACTING. lol great family shot though I'm sure your family love it and I'm sure it captures the character of your brother. |

I think this would have benifited from a little back light to make your brother stand out from the background
good luck though |

The subject is too close to the background and appears to be lit with the flash in your camera. Having the subject sit further away and directing a separate light at the background will separate your subject from the background and eliminate the closed-in, flattened head look that this proximity creates. |

A back light would have helped with the shadow behind the subject. Good color, and good subject. |

You must be Bob then.
The pictures as a duo are appealing, but apart from each other they are just pretty passport pictures. |

The lighting on the face is very nice. More light on the top of his head would have helped I think. The shirt is a little distracting. |

Interesting... very interesting...
on its own, pretty nice shot, though flash might've been a bit bright and direct (sharp shadow behind, pinprick in eyeballs). |
