It is a shock to the system to go photo by photo through your PAW and then come to this ultra sharp one :) Love the "visual path" that you created...great job! Reminds me of the snail's own slimy path.

Haha! I thought of something similar for the stop action. I like your focus on the snail's head and the path |

Love this! I am not bothered by the shell being out of focus. I was drawn to the snail's body and the "path: so well done! |

Your thumbnails always grab my attention. Almost a vignette in character, this is beautifully captured. |

haha. cool title. love this in B&W. I appreciate the purpose of your challenge is uber shallow DOF, but I hope you took a slightly wider one with the snail all in focus for yourself, because it so beautiful. |

The path is great....love how you have done that. Yes, it would have been better had the shell been all in focus, but pretty hard to do while still keeping the effect of the path. Some selective sharpening on the shell may have made this a little less noticeable (but would not have completely removed it) and that could have helped. I also would have cropped more of the foreground out (but none of the sides). While this would have changed the aspect ratio, it would have moved the snail away from the middle of the image, and removed the large white area at the front, while still maintaining the effect of the path....... |
