 I got this idea from Dreaming of the Major League. We're a hockey family.

This is my 14-year-old son, Cameron who does play quite a bit of hockey. He's not usually a willing subject for picture, but he liked the idea when I described it to him.

why ruin an otherwise perfectly decent shot with a pointless border?

The pose is great here. The light is a little hot on the skin, it is somewhat overblown in the highlights. I do like the subject matter!

Hmmm - this could go either way as far as "meeting the challenge." I do love how the light on his arm and the light on his face are on different parallel planes. This would make a cool poster. It's really a good image.
