 Crop, levels, desaturate, resize, add border, save for web...that's it!

This photo was taken on one of the ridges overlooking Zabriskie Point in Death Valley National Park. There were two girls from somewhere in Eastern Europe sitting up here waiting for the sunrise. I took this just after the sun came over the mountain and one of them headed back to the car. There was surprisingly little flare considering the sun was just out of the upper left corner of the frame.

I had predicted there were going to be photos with a cliche title like "Waiting for the sunrise" but I was not expecting anything as wonderful as this. The varying tones, the mist, the composition... AND - a human subject that makes the entire photo have an emotion that others simply lack. Beautiful - 10.
