Go, Minoltas! I've got a Minolta XD11, with 3 lenses etc. Was my "Film" camera when I was 24. Did shots in Europe and all over, then. I just bought a roll of "Film" for my mothers 35mm Nikon automatic camera fo my mother. (I bought one roll for myself, too)
I may shoot a "Roll" with all my new knowledge. I'll still hate the inability to download and edit faster. I haven't shot "Film" for at least 20 years.
Some of the younger, new generation of Photographers are "Dicovering" and "Experimenting" wit film. See "Nick Onken" or "Chase Jarvis" for examples. |

That reflection in the glass also did it for me.
Shot with a KM MF 50mm 1.2! A Rokkor? Best glass manufacturer in it's day!
Luckily my XG-M and XD-7 survived as did my 50mm Rokkor f/1.4 and an f/1.7 and the my 70-200mm Rokkor.
The XK and XM, dozens of classic Minolta lenses inc. a Minolta RF Rokkor-X 800mm f8 Mirror, went out the window and over the wall :(
You have inspired me, I'm off to go take some shots with the XG-M f/1.4 and some 400ASA Fuji |

i voted this photo much higher. although it is "just a camera" it really strikes me as a portrait rather than a product shot. the tones and the reflection in the lens is what did it for me. good job. |

it makes me sad knowing that poor camera will never be able to legally take a photo for dpchallenge :( |

The SRT101 has a special place in my heart. It was the first SLR I picked up in '79 and it was a mainstay for many years, mostly slide, before I "upgraded" to an XG-M and XD-7. Sadly she was stolen by an affirmative shopper (housebreaker) along with almost all our other Minolta gear.
This image is well taken, composed, lit and titled. The 101 is also in very good condition and very photogenic :) Hold on to her! |
