INITIAL RESPONSE: Nice original Christmas shot. Probably nt technically easy. The pole on the left disturb me a little. NIce tones (though I do not know how to qualify the color).

COMPOSITION-CONTENT - Very nice composition and framing. ANimals are perfectly position to balance the picture. Perfect positioning, the circle of light being in the bottom part preventing the picture to look 'centered'. The pole bother me ... a little by itself but also because it is very close to the animal hean, though not touching it. However, somehow it brings depth to the picture ... probably would have prefered it on the right part (digital processing as a try).

CAMERA WORK-TECHNICAL- Perfect exposure .... light are not too 'blown' thought very bright , nice details in the snow ... good perimeter of light. I would say very very good exposition.

DIGITAL PROCESSING - TECHNICAL - Did you bring the tones through processing ? If yes very good job. Not too oversharpen to my taste

MY OPINION ON THE PHOTO - I like the picture, the atmosphere a lot ... outside dochalleneg I would try without the pole and with the pole on the right (if you're not agains moving things in your picture).
Very good picture.
I would have like taking that one myself ! Congratulations.

(1) COMPOSITION (CONTENT) - Good idea to include two lighted reindeer. I just donât like the position of the one on the right â nose is buried. But I also like the apparent lack of new footprints in the snow.
(2) BACKGROUND â The âpoleâ on the left is quite distracting; especially since the one reindeer seems to be looking at it. Could you have rotated a bit to your left? The snow fall on top of old prints (?) give the ground some texture, which is really nice.
(3) CAMERA WORK ,TECHNICAL â Quite good. The exposure is right on, as is the focus. Perhaps a smaller DOF would have helped hide the background.
(4) DIGITAL PROCESSING ,TECHNICAL â Very good. You have the snow white, not gray.
(5) MY OPINION ON THE PHOTO â When I first looked at this photo, I had two different reactions. First, I liked the reindeer on the left, but not the one on the right. Second, I like the lighting and overall exposure. â a crisp winter night. Overall, well better than average.

What are they stood in? Looks like a really freaky fog! I really like the effect of the light around their feet.
Shame about the uprights in the background, but at least you've kept them seperated from the reindeer.
Nice shot, well done.

Yes, it is. Too easy of a subject really, for much more than average marks.

It seems like the house in the background should either be lit up or completely obscured. It distracts from the image in the foreground. muckpond

WOW!
This is stunning - excellent lighting - love the pool of light within the darkness and the composition too.
Voting after all!

The angle of this shot is not helping the right deer at all. Taken from a lower perspective would've helped show the deer better as well as given this a childs perspective on the shot. The way the lighting is on the snow is great though. I love the way it looks like its glowing. Pic is well framed too with nice use of negative space.

This is really nice...very good lighting, perfect exposure. Love the light on the snow. The only gripe is that it might have been nice to see more of the halo of light at the bottom of the frame, but even then it mightn't have worked. One of my top 5 this week.

I love the effect of the foggy snow here, really looks magical. I would like the background to be a little darker to get rid of the distracting pole.

is it sepia? it looks better i think than black and white would have. it's interesting how the lights create the circle of light around the reindeer. I like the composition. good focus and exposure.

Is that snow on the ground or some kind of for with a red light shining on it? The lighting looks really cool and the individual lights donât appear to be blown out which is good. I wonder if you could black out that post in the background. I really enjoyed this one.

Beautiful lighting. It's a shame the pole in the left background is visible, otherwise this is near perfect.
