Had a buddy of mine climb up this cliff and do some poses... haha fun stuff! Cropped, converted to b/w, sharpened, and tweaked levels in PSCS4.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: Great image - one that has emerged from a definite vision. A vision that you pull off in spades. The high contrast and dark sky works perfectly to set just the right background for the iconic figure. And how important that figure is; without it, we have a strangely processed, fairly vanilla landscape image; but with the figure, the image soars.

Critical stuff: The crop - using my hand, I think cropping above the bottom left rock element may have made the image even stronger.

Overall: Inspired work.

Grog is great paparazzi. Sees Elvis on cliff. Grog takes image with magic picture box and sell to respected teller-of-news. National Enquirer pays Grog many animal pelts for picture.

Oh man. This is awesome. I have such a soft spot for perspective photography. This hits the spot :)

Such a cool shot! But I wish you'd submitted the one without the silly pose. The man adds a good sense of scale and perspective, but the goofy body language destroys the solemnity this image would otherwise have.

an awesome location made all the better by the placement of the man

Love the idea. I think I would actually like the photo more if the person was more natural and not making a silly gesture. Great job using him as a reference for how large the rock ledge is.
