Beautiful shot. . I love the color in this as well as the 'highlights' off the snow.

Greetings from the Critique Club!!

Initially, I wasn't sure what I was looking at. The texture of the snow seemed to throw me off a bit. I like the feel of the shot and compositionally it is very good. I have a problem with the black section at the top. I think it sets the photo up well but the reflective "sparkles" in the black seem out of place. However, I think that overall the sparkles give this a magical feel.

The other problem I have is with the twig/tree in the right foreground. It seems to me that it could have been a bit more substantial to add to the photo. Color and lighting are very good.

Overall, a very nice shot that certainly meets the challenge. I don't think it is quite a "wow" photo but ultimately belongs in the top 20% where it finished. Nice Job!

like the placement of the twig.

wonderful. It hasn't snowed here yet or it would have been my choice too.

Great job of getting the patterns in the snow, with no hotspots. Love the flashes of sparkles in this picture. Did you use a blue filter or do that in photoshop. Nice job, looks like the stars in the sky are reflecting on the snow... very pretty. Would have liked to have seen maybe something a tiny bit more interesting... but it's a nice job. Good luck!

This is quite strange to look at. At first it looks like clouds in a night sky, but then there is the stick with a shadow.

I like how it fades from black at the top, and the textures are really nice. I think i would prefer it if the stick was a bit thicker, so more visible, or if it took up a bit more of the frame to add some extra contrast, but all in all I like this photo.

Those white spots aren't snow - they're CCD errors 'cause of the long exposure, aren't they? None on the tree.. hmm.

At first I thought this was the sky with stars, then up comes the twig and now it looks like snow, but what are the white spots. It pretty but I don't know what I'm looking at. A lot of empty space and a twig. I've got to think about this. PTL

Simple, crisp, rich and the branch does it for this one. Without it I probably would've given you a 6 or something. Your cropping is dead on, the sprkles contrat the darkness nicely. 9 kosmik

I've heard of yellow snow, but not blue snow! :) Nice effect.

Very nice. If the shadow were toned down, this would be a wonderful winter night-ish scene.
