Lol, people noticed that it was a zoology book, although I just assumed it was the zoology section of the transfiguration spells. After all, you do need to know in depth about the animal to change into it! :D

If only it were advanced editing...

This was my first try at a smoke shot. I used incense, but since it had to sit behind the book, I couldn't move it around to get one of the really cool patterns. Luckily, there would be interruptions in the smoke so that I could time it so that the smoke started at the wand. In 600 tries, there were about 20 that had the smoke originating at the wand instead of coming from behind the book.

I had to tilt the book this much to hide the flash that was sitting behind the book.

Absolutely love this shot Wendy!! Could you please describe your setup for this regarding lighting, backdrops etc.. and any post-processing. The smoke is so sharp and vivid!

i like the idea but the book itself is a Zoology book so it lacks a bit in the fine detail area....still a good shot
