 Man did I get lucky this day. I met Bob_Hand down at South Perth after struggling to get out of bed so early in the morning. As soon as I got to South Perth I leapt out of the car, grabbed the gear and ran over to where Bob had set up. I have never managed to have my camera ready when the river was this still before so I was very happy. I could have gone for a night shot but I've done that before so I went with this one.

Opened in ACR with recovery at 100, topaz adjust for saturation and detail, cropped, spot healing brush 3 times to eliminate a speck on the lens, resized, usm, saved for web.

I'm probably going to get panned for having the pylon in the shot and for the little ribbon of ripples near the far shore but what the hell, they show it's real.

A couple of swans on this river would've made this shot perfect ;-)

Great time of day to photograph Perth over the Swan.
The reflections are great. The river looks so still here.
A little of additional space all around the image may have helped. I would have included some additional space on both sides to give the image a little more room. At the moment it does feel a little squashed into the frame.
The centreline is also running straight through the middle of the image, however it looks that it is just in the upper half..........this makes it feel a little unbalanced......Some additional sky above the city (upper part of the image) would have then avoided this and balanced the image more.

Very nice...too bad Perth has all of those cranes on the buildings, but that's not your fault.
