I don't know if I "pepped it up" any better (though I added some ginger and onion), and odds are it won't score better than Robert's, but I was unable to get back to the location to shoot my own first entry within the time constraints. :-(
-Mixed incandescent and CFL lighting, Auto WB
-Handheld, SuperMacro mode
-RGB Curve
-Blue/Yellow Curve
-A little local Dodge/Burn on reflection on the onion
-Saturation Layer -27 on master channel
-Rotate/Crop
-Resize
-USM at 12%/48 dia/TH = 0
-USM at 66%/0.6 dia/TH = 5 (applied three times)
-SaveAs JPEG at quality 9/10 = 300KB

Interesting subject matter... the lighting could have been much better. The luxury of still life is that you get to control everything. |
