I like this photo Paganini.
It really makes good use of light and color which is really appealing. The background is rich and perfect for the challenge.
The composition, light, and focus all make a good photo that does look a bit like a fractal.
I don't think I'd change anything. Well done.

Well I got your title, and think this is an excellent natural example. I like this even more now that I can read about how you did the color, as I'm a big fan of duotone mode, and look forward to trying this on one of my numerous shots of trees and sky.

Thanks for the comments. The white stuff on top is both from JPEG noise and because the sun shines on it directly, reflecting the leaves. This image can only be saved at 50% JPEG compression due to the 150kb limit and since it has a lot of details it can't be saved within a reasonable quality.

As far as what is a fractal -- a fractal is a simple mathematical formula that have a certain defined rules at a macro level, and the same rules applies at the micro level. In this instance, the main trunk of the tree, spans into 2 branches, and each branches span into 2 more branches and so on and so on. That's a fractal-like pattern :)

Show you my stupidity right off the bat - I don't know what a "fractal" is, so I don't understand your title. But I do know what I like and I like this photo. Only thing is I wish you had pulled back and shifted a little to have gotten more of the tree in on the right side and maybe some of the trunk, even if you had to lay down on the ground to get it. What are the white things on the limbs? They are a little distracting. I love the clouds above the tree, adds to it. Good job. PTL 7

Gorgeous purple/blue color. This didn't turn out to be an original idea, but I like your execution the best. Very pretty.

my first look told me not very interesting, but after looking at it a little longer i said to myself this would look good framed. it's good that it is not a total silouhette, gives it more depth that way. nice composition and does look like natures' fractals.

Very nice. The silouhette of the tree against the cloudy blue sky is capativating. Lnede
