 Took this photo for fun. Decided later to slip it into this challenge.

This fellow had been crawling all over me. I didn't know until later that it's the caterpillar of the Hickory Tussock moth. Apparently its sharp hairs can become lodged into skin and produce a nasty irritation. Reaction ranges from mild, with local reddening, swelling, burning and itching to severe pain. Hypersensitive persons may experience severe swelling, nausea and generalized systemic reactions, occasionally requiring hospital treatment. In severe cases, entrance of hairs into the eye can cause blindness.

For once, I was either lucky or immune.

Fabulous image. Could it be that the cute baby animals challenge will be won by a bug???? This image is perfection: the crop, the right amount of detail in the flower center, the color combo, and of course, the breathtaking clarity and detail on the "baby".
