A very wet Carpenter bee on an orange Cosmos flower. Lately there have been quite a few of these guys who spend the night curled up on the flowers in my garden. Unfortunately for them, we had horrendous rainstorms last night, so the wet ones were stuck where they were this morning till they dried out enough to get back to work. Kind of want to use "Overwet" for a title but I'm not sure that's a real word.

Had all my extension tubes on (36mm + 20mm + 12mm) and my manual focus lens. If I'm going to go straight out of the camera I might as well make it as challenging as possible ;-)

Pretty good marcro image with appropriate narrow DOF. It's tack sharp where it counts. A few pixels of blown out highlights, but seems natural. Great colors.

Excellent camera control for minimal... over-saturated too :)

But not over done! Fantastic shot (even with the little sensor dust). Goes to show you don't need to PP to produce a great shot (except for me - I rely on PP to create a alright shot - look for the brown to see my entry) 9.
